剧情：T省機械總公司一分廠原是個年虧損四十萬元的企業，1983 年，程戈與總公司簽訂了承包一分廠的合同，期限兩年。他上任後，大刀闊斧進行改革，使工廠在五個月內就盈利二百萬元，但到84年春，廠長程戈卻向法院提起訴狀，告總公司黨委以權代法。法院受理此案後，經濟審判庭庭長郭剛動承擔了審理任務。而總公司黨委得知程戈已上告法院，十分震驚紛紛出面要程戈撤回起訴，但遭到程戈的拒絕。這個案件表現簡單，但牽扯到很多方面， 特別是被程戈開除的五名職工中，有一名是省委第一書記的小舅子。法院院長特別在開庭前告誡已被市委內定爲下任法院院長的郭剛慎重行事，但郭剛則決心以法律爲準繩審理此案。後法庭經多次調查，公開審理此案件，並判程戈勝訴。但到1985年秋，程戈在合同一到期後就被免去廠長職務，郭剛則被調到郊區法院“鍛鍊”。
