剧情：武誠治（二宮和也 飾）畢業於三流大學，文憑平平，工作經驗平平。在公司工作了三個月後，因爲無法適應上班的生活，毅然決定辭掉工作。治覺得自己應該可以找到工資更高，待遇更好的工作，但現實卻是處處碰壁，只能打點散工，且總是做不長。治的父親（竹中直人 飾）覺得治很不上進，父子關係急劇惡化。某一天，一直體諒治，溫柔的母親（淺野溫子 飾）突然昏倒，結果被檢查出患了憂鬱症。這個給治的衝擊很大，在經過一番考慮後，治爲自己確立了目標，即使是打工，也要爲母親買新房。 在打工的工地上，治結識了性格爽朗的千葉真奈美（香裏奈 飾）。真奈美的志向是成爲一名橋樑設計師，充滿幹勁的真奈美給了治很多建議。但打工買房賺錢之路困難重重，治能否克服萬難，實現自己的夢想。

Plot：Take Seiji quits his job after three months. With no dreams, no savings, and a poor relationship with his family, he becomes a hikikomori. However, after his mother falls ill with depression, he ends up taking on a part-time job at a construction site. Because of that, he soon decides to work towards rebuilding his life: Even though I'm just a freeter, I'm going to buy a house for the sake of my family. One of the people he meets at the construction site is Chiba Manami, who graduated from a top university and joined a well-known general contracting firm. Manami is the complete opposite of Seiji, but while their personalities clash at first, they gradually come to understand each other.
