本部影片重新谱写经典之作《欧律狄刻》，演绎了一出“戏中戏”的好戏。编著《欧律狄刻》的剧作家安托万（德尼·波达利德斯 Denis Podalydès饰）过世，召集了多年前曾出演过不同版本《欧律狄克》的老友到家中重聚。生前，他录制了一段声明，让这些好友欣赏一部由年轻人重新排演的《欧律狄克》。众人在观影中，不禁想起当年出演此剧时的情景。安托万在大家的感动中现身，可好戏还在后头，“你们见到的还不算什么”。
