剧情：主要講述了喜歡魔術的高中生黑羽快鬥，在自己房間內一道隱藏的門後的密室裏發現了世界聞名的大盜怪盜基德的服裝。之後，身着怪盜基德服裝的快鬥遇見了父親——世界知名的魔術家黑羽盜一以前的助手寺井黃之助，從他的口中得知自己的父親正是怪盜基德，而且他並非死於意外，而是被人暗殺。爲了找出殺害父親的人，快鬥決定以第二代怪盜基德的身份開始着手調查父親真正死因。在以怪盜基德的身份活動的某日，快鬥與稱呼自己爲“黑羽盜一”的神祕組織相遇，而該組織正是他的殺父仇人，故事也由此正式拉開帷幕。
