剧情：1939年，失業的英國青年大衛，如同許多來自世界各地的社會主義青年，一起加入一國際組織游擊隊，爲爭取民主自由而投入西班牙內戰，對抗佛朗哥的獨裁暴政。大衛因負傷來到巴塞隆納，戰時血泊中悲慘呼喊的聲音，成了他揮之不去的惡夢囈語。他發現自己搖擺於對社會主義的忠誠與新認識的愛人之間，心中的改革夢想卻不因遠離戰場而稍減，最後選擇回到前線戰友身旁…… 本片曾獲96年坎城影展金棕櫚獎提名、法國凱薩獎最佳外語片、歐洲影展最佳影片。
